 Treasure hunting

We live in a somewhat historic part of the midwest.

The pony express started from here, that is well known.

Most of the westward expansion took place from here as well, a lot of people have moved through here.

Jesse James died here, and more than a few say he left some treasures, somewhere.

I've been thinking about getting a metal detector to look for coins, buttons, belt buckles, guns, jewelry, relics -

Anyone else doing this as a hobby?
