A while back, the United States Postal Service made some stamps with pictures of some older TV shows.

Scanned and consolidated them, here they are -

Reminder me of an old local commercial for "The Loan Arranger" - some guy financing cars or something.

Perry Como and Kate Smith both had 15 minute TV shows back in the late 40s and early 50s.

A favorite of mine from radio was Arthur Godfrey, I liked the little songs he played and sang on his show. He was one of the first ones on TV too.

We didn't get our first TV until 1952 and at 4:00 in the afternoon I knew I was missing Hopalong Cassidy. I did see it once in awhile at a friends house.

Sort of off topic, my wife had the TV set to some strange channels in the 600 range.

I'll not go into how much that bothers me, when the remote is "remote" I'm not real hip to holding the button while trying to reach the "normal" channels.

I punched the button a couple times, and found a special on "Blondie" and that bands music. Pretty interesting, I think she sounded better back in the day, and the members sure seemed to be, well, strange, but still, "verrrrry interesting"!
