I took a call from American Suzuki Friday in regards to a fuel tank, a plastic fuel tank used in ATV's.

There is a recall to check these and replace any found defective.

I was asked if we had any "on hand", as they were needed by American Suzuki as no more were coming out of Japan for the time being, due to the disaster(s) there.

Parts availability issue this soon, that caught me off guard.

The prayers and best wishes go to our friends in Japan.

Was at the tire store the other day getting tires on a work truck. The tire guy said tire prices are going to sky rocket. Another disadvantage to global economy.

I got a letter in the mail from Suzuki a little over a week ago and it said there's a "safety" recall on the BKing and other models.

"Some rectifier assemblies installed on the effected models may have a condition which can cause the internal circuit to fail in service due to excessive heat. DO NOT OPERATE YOUR AFFECTED MOTORCYCLE"

I feel good that they are taking steps to remedy the problem but after 3 1/2 years and almost 50,000 miles on the ol'girl, i think i'll be just fine. Besides, i don't want to make an appointment and leave my bike for something that takes 15mins to do. Maybe i should call and see if they will just send it to me...

We've done a lot of those recalls, when they first hit, we had to stop selling those models affected - more than half and all top sellers!

It's quick, you can wait while the shop does it, you get a new rectifier.

Any Suzuki dealership will do it, heck, ride up here to KC and I'll have it done for you!
